Our Little Man

Kaden with his friend Drew. He looks so big and they're only 3 weeks apart.

Kaden in his winter outfit.

This was my attempt to make Kaden Christmas like. He looks more like a mermaid.

It's amazing how fun it is to make him smile.

He's getting sleepy.

His first conference at Chase Associates.

He loves his baths.

Mark fell asleep on the couch the other night while I was getting Kaden ready for bed. When I woke him up to go to bed he opened his eyes wide and in a childlike voice asked: "How do you know it's time to go to bed?" He then continued in amazement: "You know when it's time to go to bed every night." I'm still laughing. Who knew a husband who talks in his sleep could be such a joy?

Updates on Kaden

Kaden was blessed
He got so used to being held while he was sleeping that he had a hard time sleeping on his own. Last Saturday we helped him break the habit. Since Sunday he's been sleeping like a champ and he falls asleep places he never used to. He even takes naps longer than 1/2 hour. He still wakes up twice during the night to eat, but I think he's getting his days and nights figured out.

Yesterday he started smiling more than before. These are my best attempts to get it on film.

Pumpkin Carving

This year Mark went a little crazy on the pumpkin carving. My mom grew pumpkins in her garden so he didn't have to pay for them. When I asked him how many he took he replied, with no shame, "seven". He later went back for two more.

Kaden

To make sure that Kaden came home healthy he had to stay a few extra days. Luckily, we were able to stay at the hospital with him until he came home on Friday.

Our new little family

Isn't he cute?

Kaden had to have an IV to recieve antibotics. To protect the IV we wrapped his hand in a diaper. Doesn't he look like a little boxer?

Kaden has arrived!!!!

Our beautiful little boy was born this morning at 4:04 am. His name is Kaden Mark Caldwell. He weighs 8 lbs. 4 oz., and is 21 1/2 inches long. He is already a ladies man, being that he is the only male in the nursery right now. He has his Mom's hair and his Dad's nose.

Catch Up

No baby yet, but I have officially started my maternity leave, leaving time to update the blog. Here are a few things we've been up to:

Mark carved his first pumpkin for the year.

The culprits.

They're pretty good sports to make faces like these.

I debated posting this one. But what the heck - 39 weeks and a million pounds heavier.
We finished the baby's nursery.
I sewed the valance.

My family, Mark's family, and my work all threw us baby showers.
We feel so blessed to have such great friends, family, and support!

You had to hang clothes on a clothes line while holding a baby and talking on a cell phone.

We went to bear lake over Labor Day.
It was pretty funny to watch mark try to drive something with a clutch.

The sea snake.

Mark stripped and re-stained the deck.
