Kaden

It's been a while for us but here's a few updates on our 5 month old.
Kaden now has two teeth.
He weighs about 21lbs.
He's 27" tall.
He wears some 12 month clothes.
He is such a good baby!
Kaden loves his food. His favorites are rice cereal and squash.
This one has a funny story to go with it. Kaden started rolling from back to front about a month ago. He rolled from front to back about a month before that but was selective about when he'd do it. He didn't really like to be on his stomach but really enjoyed his new trick. He was playing at the office and rolled to his stomach and started fussing, like normal. I thought to myslef if he's going to keep rolling over he needs to learn that he can roll back so I left him there. I looked over a little while later and noticed that his face was in a puttle of spit up. I picked him up and felt terribe. This picture really doesn't do it justice. He looked like the phantom in Phantom of the Opera.
Kaden started sitting like a big boy in his stroller. He loves his walks.
He likes to push himself around in the walker but can only go backwards.
He really loves rolling around. He's has figured out that he can roll both ways so we haven't had any more spit up moments.

He rolled around a little too much.
He loves to play with his dad!

He's Getting So Big!

Kaden is getting so big. He grew out of his swaddle, started going to bed at 7:30 (on his own), plays with toys, he got a job at Chase Associates as an intern to earn a salary of formula and diapers, and loves to pull himself into sitting and standing positions. It's hard to tell how much he's grown being with him every day so we have a few pictures to compare.

The picture on the left is of Kaden at about 3 weeks. The picture on the right is of him at about 3 months. He's holding his head in a way that makes him look a little more chunky than he is, but can you believe the difference?

Grandma and Grandpa Caldwell got him this toy for Christmas. He loves it! He stares at the toys and talks and talks.

This is his first day at the office.

He works so hard he falls asleep playing.

He's a big boy in his highchair.

Dad didn't think this was funny but Kaden sure did. Who can smile that big just after throwing up?

Kaden's First Christmas

Mark has already got him sitting,

and walking.

Here he is enjoying his Christmas present (he isn't quite sure what to do yet)

Kaden played Jesus in the family nativity.

Kaden and Dad on Christmas morning.

Kaden and Mom.
He can't keep those hands out of his mouth.

Kaden and Akaylia - she grabbed his hand on her own.

This is a very common look on his face.

Our Little Man

Kaden with his friend Drew. He looks so big and they're only 3 weeks apart.

Kaden in his winter outfit.

This was my attempt to make Kaden Christmas like. He looks more like a mermaid.

It's amazing how fun it is to make him smile.

He's getting sleepy.

Kaden and his cousin.

His first conference at Chase Associates.

He loves his baths.

Mark fell asleep on the couch the other night while I was getting Kaden ready for bed. When I woke him up to go to bed he opened his eyes wide and in a childlike voice asked: "How do you know it's time to go to bed?" He then continued in amazement: "You know when it's time to go to bed every night." I'm still laughing. Who knew a husband who talks in his sleep could be such a joy?

Updates on Kaden

Kaden was blessed
He got so used to being held while he was sleeping that he had a hard time sleeping on his own. Last Saturday we helped him break the habit. Since Sunday he's been sleeping like a champ and he falls asleep places he never used to. He even takes naps longer than 1/2 hour. He still wakes up twice during the night to eat, but I think he's getting his days and nights figured out.

Yesterday he started smiling more than before. These are my best attempts to get it on film.
