Trains, Trains, and More Trains

A day at the Caldwell house just wouldn't be complete without building multiple train tracks.

S&S Railroad

My cousin introduced us to a fun little railway station called S&S Railroad.
Kaden grinned from ear to ear the whole time. We rode a mini train. And a big train. Debbie, Eielie, and Emily.

Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Woolley for the great time!

4th of July

Every year for the 4th of July we go to the Kaysville 4th of July Parade. If you have never been to this parade you are missing out. They have a great parade. The kids get a ton of candy and toys. After the parade there is a huge water fight. The audience fights the water floats, fire trucks, and water tankers. Kaden's favorite part is all of the free blow up toys to play on.Another tradition for the 4th of July is setting up the slip 'n slide.
It wouldn't be the 4th of July without popsicles at Grandma Caldwell's.
The kids love to get front row seats for the fireworks and more popsicles.

Kaden loves his aunt's Stacey dog Honey. If you ask Kaden if he wants to see his aunt Stacey, he always says, "Honey?" By the way, he loves Stacey too.
Kaden always likes to help around the house. I hope he is this way when he is a teenager.

Relay for Life!!!

My mom has been battling terminal cancer for the last year and a half. She is a fighter. To help support her fight, we decided to participate in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life as a family.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.

Relay began in 1985 when Dr. Gordy Klatt, a colorectal surgeon in Tacoma, Washington, ran and walked around a track for 24 hours to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Since then, Relay has grown from a single man’s passion to fight cancer into the world’s largest movement to end the disease. Each year, more than 3.5 million people in 5,000 communities in the United States, along with additional communities in 20 other countries, gather to take part in this global phenomenon and raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer. Thanks to Relay participants, the American Cancer Society continues to save lives.

To kick off the event, there is a survivors lap. All survivors or those suffering from cancer go around the track. It was an emotional experience supporting all of those who have suffered or are currently suffering from cancer.

Go Mom and Grandpa!
Team Woolley Mamoths.
This was our awesome team. We raised more funds than any other team at the event.
Save Second Base was our motto. We all walked a ton, but my cousin Jessica beat us all by walking/running 26 miles, followed by my brother-in-law Brad with 20 miles, and then myself with 16.5 miles. We had a ton of fun, and will be putting another team together for next year.

Disneyland, Seaworld, and the Beach

As many of you know Mark's mom has terminal cancer, so we decided to go on a family vacation to create some great memories for the grandkids. This vacation had been a dream of Mark's mom for a long time. We rented an awesome house about a mile away from Disneyland which was our base. As you can see we had a great time.

One of Kim's clients gave Kim a bonus for finishing a project for his office, but the bonus came with one requirement. It had to be used at the Blue Bayou restaurant at Disneyland. Mark's brother Matt, and his wife Stephanie decided to join us. It was one of those things that you do one time, but probably won't do again.

Tips for going to Disneyland
1) Take someone in a wheelchair (you get right to the front of the lines and you can take 5 guests to join you)!
2) Buy the multi-day park hopper pass, and sell the days that you don't use.
3) Take someone that loves to run around the park getting fast passes. Thanks Matt!

Mark, Kaden and Chase petting the stingrays at Sea World in San Diego.
One of Kaden's favorite attractions was playing on the water pad at California Adventure.

I love Kaden's face in this picture.

One of our favorite activities was just hanging out at the beach. This is how we keep track of our kids at the beach, we just bury them in the sand.

Here are the guys hitting the waves at Huntington Beach.

Kaden keep your eyes on the road! I guess that is why they don't let kids under 16 drive.

After the third try Mark finally made the rank of Space Ranger 2!
